My client an ever growing, award winning, family run main contractor based just outside of Cambridge, are looking for an energetic estimator to join their commercial team.

The successful candidate will have minimum 5 years experience working with a main contractor, with proven experience overseeing projects up to £10million.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
- Maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Prepare and present estimates to clients or management for approval

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Cost control: Ability to analyze project costs and implement strategies to control expenses
