Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Salary £17.00 - £21.50 per hour (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
Full-time, 39 hours per week (Days with occasional Nights)
Job Purpose:
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, your role is crucial to the efficiency and progress of our client's operations. You'll play a vital part in improving production facilities, reducing costly breakdowns, and enhancing overall reliability and safety. This includes both reactive and preventative maintenance on various machinery to ensure smooth operations and uphold production quality.
Main Responsibilities:
- Check and calibrate instruments, repairing faults when necessary.
- Fit new parts and conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Locate sources of problems and troubleshoot malfunctions using precision instruments.
- Remove defective parts and fabricate repair parts as needed.
- Conduct all electrical work, including lighting, wiring, and testing.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of preventive maintenance techniques.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories.
- Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns and arrange replacements.
- Keep production managers informed of progress.
- Service and repair equipment, working on various systems.
- Perform scheduled checks, oiling, and cleaning of machinery and parts.
Previous Experience:
- Fault finding within an industrial environment.
- Maintenance role experience, preferably in Manufacturing/Plastics/Aerospace/Automotive/Precision or similar industries.
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations.
- Dual Skilled mechanical/electrical preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Maintenance Engineer.
- Experience in preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Experience in a foundry environment preferred but not essential.
Qualifications:
- GCSE Grade C Maths & English or equivalent.
- Relevant electrical qualification (City and Guilds, 18th edition or NVQ).
- HNC or HND in General Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Operations (Desirable).
