We are delighted to be working on behalf of a leading fundraising services provider based in brand new, state of the art premises on the outskirts of Chippenham, Wiltshire
They now require a Senior Software Developer to join them on a full time and permanent basis.
The role is hybrid, and you will be reporting to the Chief Technology Officer:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver IT Software Services across the business to both internal and external clients
Be Client and Service focused. Delivering services on time and working to requirements
Ensure the business has a sector leading information technology support and development services, which is secure and available.
KEY PRIORITIES
Absolute security of systems and data
Taking no risks with system and data security
Ensuring all correct techniques within software development and Technical Operations are used to ensure system and data security is paramount
Client Service
Delivery of client work to agreed quality and timescales to ensure exceptional client service
Confidentiality
Be professional and confidential always, conducting yourself with integrity in all matters relating to the company, its information, reputation and its employees and clients.
IMPORTANT PRIORITIES
Developers are responsible for developing new systems, enhancements to existing systems, code maintenance and bug fixing. Activities include:
Ensure you understand and follow the company policies with regards to System, data, and physical security at all times
Ensure you understand and follow the company policies with regards to Health and Safety at all times
Ensure you understand and follow the company policies with regards compliance with PCI and GCRTS and other relevant standards
Ensure you understand and follow the company Standard Operating Procedures where they exist
Ensure robust documented Standard Operating Procedures exist for all key aspects of Developments activity Actively partake in the annual documentation reviews
Actively participate in meetings offering both technical and general advice and assistance
Assist in delivering a best practice IT Team to deliver the organisations technology and data requirements with efficiency and effectiveness
Consistently deliver quality IT changes across the business
Uphold the company security policy and maintain a knowledge of it.
Ensure IT processes are adhered to and maintain a sound working knowledge of them.
DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Development are responsible for developing new systems, enhancements to existing systems, code maintenance and bug fixing. In addition, performing peer reviews, testing both their own code, that of their peers and assisting the Test Team in assuring systems are validated conforming to the business expected standards.
* Assist other developers
* Advise change stakeholders of status of work as required
* Be aware of, and follow, the bug-fix process
* Documentation reviews
* Code reviews
* Undertake training as required
* Design the most effective method of implementing a solution from a schedule of requirements (non-technical)
* Write and locally test appropriate code using agreed technologies
* Produce documentation detailing methodologies used
* Adhere strictly to the companys version control procedures
* Track and report on times taken to complete developments, actual vs. estimates
* Comply with the business security policies, processes, and proceduresTake part in surgeries as required to provide technical advice to internal clients and team members
* Engage with the wider business to progress their work and ensure customer satisfaction.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Lead times for development to be 8 weeks or less
Software failures to be less than 15% per month
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Proficient in C# .Net and Visual Studio.
* Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server both DDL and DML
* Proficient in .NET Core & .NET Standard
* Experience in MVC or Blazor
* Experience in grid frameworks
* Experience in client-side web libraries
* Experience in Microservices architecture
* Experience in Entity Framework
* Strong understanding of SOLID principles
* Motivated and flexible
* Ability to adapt/learn new methodologies
* Experience in Azure Dev Ops / TFS / Git
* Experience in Azure hosting / architecture
* Experience in Umbraco / CMS systems
* Experience in CI / CD
* Ability to write automated unit tests
