Introduction

Our client, a leading HTP company, is seeking an experienced Traffic Signals Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. As the Principal Engineer in their busy UTC control centre based in the Merseyside area. You will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining over 400 sets of traffic signals and 60 VMS/CPG systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer with expertise in UTC traffic signal systems to contribute to the smooth flow of traffic.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize UTC UX system to make plan changes, validate SCOOT networks, and manage faults
Interrogate controllers and the UTC system for traffic signal errors
Manage repairs and temporary clears for traffic signal faults
Monitor the network and take necessary actions for UTC plan changes, SCOOT changes, and incident responses
Maintain and resolve bollard issues and bollard maintenance/strikes
Communicate with complainants and address traffic signal issues through letters of response
Provide shift coverage, answer calls, and resolve issues on the InView fault management system

Job Requirements

Significant experience in working with UTC traffic signal systems
Proficiency in using UTC UX and InView fault management system for fault management and action
Understanding of SCOOT networks validation and fine-tuning
Knowledge of traffic signal repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Ability to effectively manage bollard issues and maintenance
Excellent communication skills to address complaints and provide letters of response
Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including early or late shifts
Availability for weekend work during major events
